Bad breath is a common problem for thousands of people around the world these days. It is caused by our poor oral hygiene habits and poor lifestyle as well, which allows bacteria to multiply in our mouth at an astounding rate.

Dentists recommend mouthwash and flossing in order to resolve the problem, but if you want to prevent it rather than temporarily treat it, you need to take a different approach.

There are 2 ways of determining the underlying cause for your bad breath. The first way is to wipe your tongue with a piece of gauze – if the gauze smells bad and has a yellowish layer on it, your mouth is full of sulfides which are causing the problem.

The second way is to lick the back of your hand and smell the odor after 10 minutes – if the area you licked smells bad and has some kind of residue on it, you need to take immediate action.

Getting rid of your bad breath is simpler than you think. As it turns out, there’s one ingredient we all have in our kitchen that can easily eliminate it – baking soda.

Just put ½ a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water and dip your toothbrush in the mixture, then clean your teeth as usual. Repeat the process twice every day and you will get rid of the horrific odor pretty soon!
